Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually splitting with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.

This marks his first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.

Victory also means the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct events.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to win a trophy is particularly special," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my child my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, comprising in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's counter-punching play style and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to wonder if his ability to play at the highest level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and play aggressively, backed up by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.

The competitors traded service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 early opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet failing to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
